MN Dryer Vent

Before we offer a solution for a dryer vent repair, we always do an inspection. Our inspection process covers your entire dryer vent system. We have an in depth checklist we follow for every job. Whether it be a crushed dryer vent pipe, a dryer vent pipe that is too long, too many elbows, a disconnection, lint blockages, or flammable flexible foil vent pipe, rest assured, we will solve it. If something is discovered during the inspection process, it will be presented to you, the homeowner.

A dryer vent repair could be something as little as untaped seams of your dryer vent. It could also be a crushed pipe or a disconnect somewhere in your system. Most of the issues we see are the use of an incorrect vent pipe, disconnections, or incorrect installations. Did you know the flexible foil vent pipe they sell at big box stores is flammable? Whatever it may be, it might collect lint, it might not contain lint, restrict airflow, create moisture, create blockages, or it may be leaking CO2 into your home.

Here you can see a dangerous situation.

  1. Flammable flexible foil dryer vent pipe. We always remove and replace these vent pipes.
  2. There is a disconnection in the vent pipe, so the dryer is spraying lint on top of the cupboard and releasing warm, moist air into the laundry room.
  3. The seams that were taped were taped with duct tape and not the appropriate high temp foil heat tape.
  4. All of the seams should be taped on the entire pipe including the elbows.
  5. Duct tape was used to support the dryer vent pipe.
Dryer vent repair before repairs are made
  1. We removed the flammable flexible foil pipe and replaced it with heavy duty 26 gauge hard pipe and elbows.
  2. All of the seams on the pipe and elbows are taped with high temp foil heat tape.
  3. The pipe and elbow is strapped to the floor joists with metal straps to secure it in place.
  4. The pipe has a metal bracket stand-off to maintain clearance to combustibles and to help secure the pipe.
